1. Choose the right place and warehouse
(1) The place or warehouse for storing steel pipes should be placed in a clean, well-drained place, away from factories and mines that produce harmful gases or dust. Weeds and all debris should be removed from the field, and the steel pipe should be kept clean
(2) In the warehouse, it shall not be filled with acid, alkali, salt, cement and other materials that have a corrosive effect on the steel pipe. Different types of steel pipes should be stacked separately to prevent confusion and contact corrosion
(3) Large section steel, rail, steel plate, large diameter steel pipe, forgings, etc., can be stacked in the open air
(4) Small and medium-sized rebar, wire, bar, medium diameter steel pipe, steel wire, steel wire, etc., can be stored in a well-ventilated shed, but must be up and down
(5) Some small steel pipes, thin steel plates, steel strips, silicon steel plates, small-caliber or thin-wall steel pipes, a variety of cold-rolled and cold-drawn steel pipes and high-priced corrosion-prone metal products can be stored
(6) The warehouse should be selected according to geographical conditions. Usually, an ordinary enclosed warehouse is used, that is, a warehouse with a roof, fences, tight doors and Windows, and ventilation devices.
(7) The warehouse must be ventilated on sunny days, closed on rainy days to prevent moisture, and always maintain a suitable storage environment

2. Reasonable stacking,
(1) The basic requirements of stacking are to stack according to varieties and specifications under stable stacking and safe conditions. Different types of materials should be stacked separately to prevent confusion and corrosion of each other.
(2) It is prohibited to store corrosive items to steel pipes near the stack
(3) The bottom of the stack should be high, firm and flat to prevent moisture or deformation of the material.
(4) The same materials are stacked separately according to the storage order to facilitate the realization of the principle of first-in-first-out
(5) For the section steel stacked in the open air, there must be a wooden pad or plate below it, the stacking surface should be slightly inclined to facilitate drainage, and the material should be placed flat to prevent bending and deformation
(6) Stacking height, manual operation does not exceed 1.2m, mechanical operation does not exceed 1.5m, pile width does not exceed 2.5m
(7) There should be a certain channel between stacking and stacking, the inspection channel is generally 0.5m, and the access channel depends on the size of the material and transportation machinery, which is generally 1.5 ~ 2. m
(8) Raise the bottom of the stack, if the warehouse is a sunny cement floor, raise O.1m is enough; If it is muddy, it must be raised by.2 ~ 0.5m. If it is an open field, the cement floor should be raised by O·3 ~ O·5m, and the sand and mud surface should be raised by 0.5 ~ O. 7m
9) The Angle steel and channel steel stacked in the open air should be put down, that is, the mouth is down, the I-steel should be placed upright, and the surface of the groove of the steel pipe should not face to avoid rust due to water

3. Packaging and protective layer of protective materials. Preservatives or other coatings and packaging used by steel mills before they leave the plant are important measures to prevent materials from rusting. It must be protected during transport and handling. It will not be damaged and can extend the storage life of the material.
4. Keep the warehouse clean and strengthen material maintenance
(1) Before entering the warehouse, materials should be prevented from being rained or mixed with impurities. Rain-soaked or contaminated materials should be cleaned by different methods according to their properties, such as high-hardness wire brushes and low-hardness cloths. Cotton, etc.
(2) Materials should be checked frequently after storage. If there is rust, the rust layer should be removed
